Compete with other artists and photographers in our free monthly art contests for cash and other great prizes. A Singular Creation provides a free online venue to showcase your art and photography. Your images will be juried by our panel, as well as rated by our visitors. Winners will be selected accordingly.

We will start the cash pot at a different amount, depending on the theme. In addition to cash prizes, we will award various prizes donated by our sponsors. Also, all winners will be featured in our e-newsletters sent to over 7,500 subscribers and on our web site. Up to $900 in prizes each month.

Theme: People 3 - Contest is open to all media and all styles of art, as long as a person is represented as a major part of the work.

Seeking proposals from an artist or team of artists to create a permanent work of original art for the OU Children's Atrium Entry Drive located in the heart of Oklahoma City, OK. The artist's fees for this work-of-art has been set at $600,000 and shall include all costs of the artwork, such as travel, materials, the artist’s design, fabrication, insurance coverage, shipping, and installation. The artwork can include sculpture, mosaic and landscaping elements, unique or alternative art media – or any combination that is appropriate to the site.

The Hammond Regional Arts Center (a non-profit arts gallery and cultural center) seeks artwork for the exciting new showcase "Hammond Digital Art Exhibit" - a display of works by established and emerging artists from across the country, featured on Lamar digital billboards in Hammond, Louisiana and interspered between regular digital billboard ads. The exhibit will be on display in Hammond from March 5 through April 1, 2012. Proceeds from the juried exhibition will benefit the Hammond Regional Arts Center. The theme is open, but all digital images must fit within the required dimensions. At least 100 images will be chosen by the jurors. Each piece showcased will also be featured on the Hammond Regional Arts Center website along with the artist's contact information. Registration and submission are online only.

After the great success of the international contest Donkey Art Prize 2010’ first edition, with the presentation of the best 100 works in the most prestigious art galleries of New York, Milan, London and Los Angeles, the enrolments for the 2011 edition are opened. The art contest is organized by Blidonkey Cultural Association, created with the aim of merging together the world of arts, fashion and music to build a worldwide network of artists coming from different backgrounds. Create a series of events, exhibitions, fashion shows and music performances on the international scale in order to give to the participating artists the possibility to express their own art and point of view, developing interest within an international community of new talents.

Donkey Art Prize 2011, promoted for the first year by the Veneto region, is a contest that awards the best international artist. Starting from this edition, together with the painting and photography/digital art categories, there will be a new discipline for the participants: video installations. Another novelty of this year is the enlargement of the jury of experts coming from the Verona, Bologna and Milan Art Academies; they will select 150 finalists within a wide range of participants coming from all over the world, considering criteria of originality, expressivity and artistic technicality.

The 2011 edition will end, in the first semester of 2012, with the exhibition of the 150 finalists’ art works in some of the best art galleries of the most important international capitals: New York, Milan, London and, starting from this year, Shanghai and San Paolo. During these international exhibitions the art works of the final participants will be presented to the large public and the winners of the three categories will be awarded with a 5.000 € prize. The images of the most interesting works will be printed on T‐shirts and distributed, on the occasion of the brand new “T‐shirt Contest”, during the events.
Many are the novelties Blidonkey Cultural Association is creating to make the edition of the contest Donkey Art Prize 2011 richer and more interesting, personal exhibitions of the artists, collaboration with important international school and art galleries etc.

Oil Painters of America will hold its Twenty First Annual National Exhibition of Representational Oil Paintings, June 22 through July 21, 2012 at Evergreen Fine Art Gallery in Evergreen, Colorado. Approximately 30 awards will be given with a total value estimated in excess of $75,000 including a $25,000 Best of Show. Juror of Awards is Quang Ho. A full-color catalog will be available.

Deadline for mailed-in slide submissions is February 10, 2012. Deadline for on-line submissions is February 24, 2012.

In the fall of 2012, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) will host CraftTexas 2012, the seventh in a series of juried exhibitions showcasing the best in Texas-made contemporary craft. The exhibition will feature artists from all over the state who work in clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood and found/recycled materials.

The exhibition serves as a starting place for the general public to appreciate the depth and breadth of craft being made in our own communities and across the state. Additionally, this unique show provides Texas artists the opportunity to be considered for inclusion in major national museum and private collections.

CraftTexas 2012 is open to all artists currently residing in Texas. Works in craft media: clay, fiber, glass, metal and wood and in found/recycled materials will be accepted. Each artist may submit up to three (3) original works completed within the last two (2) years. Work must be available for the duration of the show and may not be withdrawn from the exhibition at any time prior to the closing date of December 30, 2012. Through That Which is Seen will represent a range of interpretations of the diorama on all scales. We aim to exhibit pieces borrowing from museums’ use of the diorama as a means to inform and educate to works that turn the more conventional notion of diorama on its head. From natural history displays to shoebox book reports, the word diorama often conjures memories from childhood. However, dioramas can be found dotted throughout our daily lives. Think about storefront displays, televisions, and medicine cabinets, to name a few. Does a shower become a performative diorama when in use? Or a car? The co-curators are open to reviewing any and all iterations of possible interpretations of dioramas.

Established in 1994, the International Sculpture Center’s Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards competition was created for the recognition and advancement of undergraduate and graduate student excellence in sculpture. In partnership with educational institutions around the world, this award program encourages faculty members to nominate students that demonstrate exceptional talent in the contemporary sculpture field.

Award recipients participate in an exhibition hosted by Grounds For Sculpture (Hamilton, NJ) and a traveling exhibit hosted by an esteemed arts organization in a location TBD. Award recipient work is also featured in Sculpture magazine. Each award recipient receives a one-year ISC membership and the chance to apply for a full, sponsored residency to study in Switzerland with world-renowned sculptor Heinz Aeschlimann.

Juror: Christopher James is an internationally known artist and photographer whose paintings and alternative process images have been exhibited in galleries and museums in this country and abroad. His work has been published and shown extensively, including shows in The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The George Eastman House, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The first edition of his book, The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes (Delmar Cengage -Albany, NY), received unprecedented critical acclaim and was the winner The Golden Light Technical Book of the Year award. In 2008, a greatly expanded, and lavishly illustrated, 2nd edition was published by Delmar Cengage and has become universally recognized as the definitive text in the genre. Christopher, after 13 years at Harvard University, is currently University Professor, and Director of the MFA in Photography program at The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. He is also a working graphic designer and a professional scuba diver.

Curators Elisabeth Murray and Jonathan Brantley, in collaboration with from Rogue Video and Performance seek video art to be projected out-of-doors in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. This event will take place in the area beneath the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, between Meeker and Union Avenues on May 3rd from 7:30pm until 9:30pm.

The exhibition, "Speculation and Spectacle" will address the theme of gentification. Only video submissions will be accepted. Limit of 5 submissions per artist. Submissions must be accompanied by an artist statement and c.v. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Digital files are to be named in the following way: artistname_titleofwork.filetype (example: smith_art.mov or smith_statement.doc). Applicants are encouraged to contact the curators with questions prior to submitting.

Artists must submit their videos in DVD, .mpeg, .avi or .mov formats with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Videos cannot exceed 5 minutes in duration. Videos will be shown on a single-channel, continuous loop projected onto urban structures underneath the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Screenings shall take place between 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Call for Proposals: Mobile Art Installation

Artists are invited to submit proposals for a mobile art installation that would transform the interior of a 7.5’ x 7.5’ x 16’ PODS container. The installation will travel around the Lexington area making stops in public parks and schools. The installation can explore any theme, but artists are encouraged to make the work interactive and durable for travel. The goal of the touring program is to engage the public with contemporary art in unexpected places. LAL would like artists to submit images of previous work, renderings of the proposed project, and a description of the project. In conjunction with the selected artist, LAL will develop contextual learning materials to accompany the installation, so artists are advised to keep the educational impact in mind when designing the proposal. The selected artist (or collaborative team) will be granted a $500 stipend. The artist is responsible for all travel and material costs and will conduct the installation on site at LAL during the month of May, 2012.

All artists, age 18 and older, are eligible to submit proposals. All media and styles will be considered. All works must have been completed since 2006 and not previously shown in any LAL gallery.

Art Inter/National is a celebration of artistic expression from all over the world. It's an exhibition that displays how the space one occupies both influences and guides the creative process. Box Heart encourages diversity in the media used to create the work, in the artists and his/her interpretation of Art Inter/National. There are no limits or boundaries, no categories or types. Box Heart is looking for expressions in art that are not only cultivated, but also created because of each artist's place on this earth.
