Full Description: Becker and Stein will talk about their research and discoveries about the Fair of the Future in "The Future Remembered: The 1962 Seattle World's Fair and Its Legacy.", The Century 21 Exposition, better known as the Seattle World's Fair, took place in 1962 from April 21 to Oct. 21. As the first major American world's fair after World War II, it presented an optimistic vision of a future improved through science and technology and promoted Seattle to the world as a space-age city. Exhibits focused on industry, commerce, science and the future, but also included fine arts, food and entertainment. Ten million people attended the fair, and it left Seattle with many lasting legacies, including the Space Needle, the Monorail and the Seattle Center.

Full Description: This month's presentation features the work of Katy E. Ellis (poetry), Jennifer D. Munro (nonfiction) and Elena Louise Richmond (memoir)., There will also be a short lecture by Christopher J. Jarmick on The Writer's Craft. Before the author readings, open mike time is available for three minutes per person.
