Sparks on the Ridge (www.sparksontheridge.com) is in its first year as a festival of music and art (applications attached), with camping and a wide variety of bands, artists, vendors, and live performers. Tickets go on sale May 27 (one day: $25, weekend without camping: $40, weekend with camping: $65, camping passes: $25).
The event will feature 50-plus bands on three stages, over the weekend of August 5th - 7th, 2011. Sparks is proud to showcase national, regional, and local acts in the vein of jam bands, psychedelic, blues, blues-grass, folk, acoustic, indie, reggae and more. Guests can enjoy installation art on the festival grounds, live art creation by local and regional artists, music and art workshops, and a plethora of learning opportunities for people of all ages. The goal of this event is to encourage the appreciation for art and music in a community setting, while maintaining and teaching environmentally conscious practices throughout the weekend. A portion of the proceeds will benefit charity.
