Join the Spring 2012 Coed Indoor Soccer League! Season starts up on January 22nd, 2012. Cost will be $60 per player. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons at the Fort Myers Skatium. Season runs for 10 regular season games followed by playoffs.
The spring coed season will be scheduled into three divisions, gold, silver, and bronze. You may sign up as a team or as an individual! Placement of new teams require half of the team fee paid prior to registration deadline.
Registrations and team commitments are due no later than January 13th, 2012.

The Fort Myers Skatium Coed Indoor Soccer League is an adult athletic program designed to provide organized athletics to local adults. Indoor Soccer Leagues run year round with three to four seasons a year.

The playing surface is a 200 x 85 ft. multi purpose sport court located inside the Fort Myers Skatium in downtown Fort Myers.The Indoor Soccer League is open to individuals of all athletic abilities. The game is a (2) 24 minutes half's game with 5 on 5 player structure. The coed indoor soccer gold division is a competitive league designed for adults with previous college or high school. This league has been developed for players with a background in soccer looking to continue playing at a high level.

The coed indoor soccer silver division is a competitive league for adults who have experience playing in the past years at a recreational level and are looking for a mix of skill levels.

Coed Indoor Soccer League - Bronze Division

The coed indoor soccer bronze division is a recreational league for adults who are either new to the sport or looking for a fun way to get some exercise with friends in a team setting. Also good for adults who haven't played soccer for a few years and are looking to get back into the sport.

Over the last hundred years Jesus Christ has been portrayed in a wide variety of ways in film. The first February offering, Jesus Goes to the Oscars: Christ in Film, will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays, February 1st-15th. Each week the class will explore one or more Hollywood depictions of Christ, including "bio-pics" like The Greatest Story Ever Told, musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar, and more controversial films like The Last Temptation of Christ and The Passion of the Christ. Identical sessions will be offered at 10:00AM and 7:00PM in Fellowship Hall, led by Senior Pastor John Danner. A second offering begins February 29th, as Pastor Danner presents a five-part study on interfaith relations called One God, Three Faiths: Jewish, Christian and Muslim Relations. The class will trace the history of the relationships among these faith communities which all claim a common ancestor in Abraham. The class will also be held in Fellowship Hall on Wednesdays through March 28th at 10:00AM and 7:00PM.

“The workshop information will be particularly useful to members of the baby-boomer generation, which is approaching retirement,” said firm Principal and Financial Planner Tom Uhler, one of the workshop facilitators. “We provide easy-to-understand information designed to clear up confusion about Social Security issues. We have held similar sessions and found that having accurate knowledge lowers stress levels for those facing retirement, either in the near future or in several years.”

Uhler has more than three decades of experience in financial services in Southwest Florida and has qualified from 1995 through 2012 for the Raymond James Financial Services Executive Council, whose membership is based primarily on assets under management, education, credentials and fiscal-year production. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Southwest Florida and serves on the executive board and endowment investment committee for Southwest Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America. Uhler also sits on the board of directors for Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades. He chairs the United Way 2011-12 fundraising campaign.

Co-facilitator for the workshop will be Certified Financial Planner Scott Schatzle, who has eight years of financial-services experience and is one of roughly 55,000 Certified Financial Planners in the U.S. He served on the boards of the Financial Planning Association of Southwest Florida and the student-run Financial Managers Association at Florida Gulf Coast University, and has been an instructor for the CFP-certification program at FGCU.

Casey Weston, a finalist on NBC’s hit show “The Voice” who hails from Southwest Florida, will headline a free event Saturday, Feb. 11 at Verandah, the 1,456-acre community located along a 1.75-mile stretch of the Orange River in Fort Myers.

Weston will perform in Verandah’s Oak Park during “The Real Deal: Tastes, Tours and Tunes” event from noon to 3 p.m. Members of the public are welcome and will tour model homes featuring Florida-inspired food and drinks, receive free gifts and register for prizes.

The tour culminates at Oak Park, where Weston will perform an outdoor concert as guests enjoy desserts from Verandah Club.

Verandah’s Oak Park showcases the community’s canopy of 100-year-old Live Oak trees and overlooks the 18th green of its Bob Cupp-designed Old Orange golf course, one of two championship courses at Verandah. The second, Whispering Oak, was designed by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II.

The home tour features five furnished models by Verandah’s homebuilders, including:

After the celebration join Thomas Edison and President Hoover as they motorcade to the City of Fort Myers. Join them on a historical walking tour of downtown with True Tours.
