gives many thanks to this studio for the wonderful classes\, workshops
 \, and community programs..\n\nA passionate yoga student since 1998\, I c
ompleted my 200 hour teacher training at Sacred Rivers Yoga in 2007. I
fell in love with yoga because of the peace and acceptance that each pra
ctice brings to me. Yoga has taught me to bring breath and energy into
everything I do\, and provides me with an overall sense of calm and well
being.\n\nMy class provides careful instruction on alignment and breath
\, and encourages each student to become aware of their physical and emo
tional self. Students are encouraged to listen to their bodies as we ex
plore different levels of poses. We will find stillness and by holding
 poses longer.

DESCRIPTION:with Jack Lynch.\n\nThis is a challenging power-yoga-based p
ractice which develops strength and endurance. It is based on the class
ical yoga system as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Class structure wi
ll be similar to the primary Ashtanga sequence in terms of tempo and pos
ture progression. Modifications from the classical style will include s
elected position substitutions\, posture variations offered\, and alignm
ent considerations. This method produces an intense internal heat and a
purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The practice can be
both athletic and meditative which results in improved circulation\, a l
ight and strong body and a calm mind.\n\n\nJack's bio: \n\nJack Lynch re
ceived his formal training from renowned teachers Beryl Bender Birch and
David Swenson. These accomplished mentors have instilled in Jack a deep
understanding of the ancient Ashtanga system (both first and second ser
ies)\, and imparted an abundance of skillful adjustment techniques.\n\nJ
ack has also studied with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois\, Ana Forrest\, Nancy Gil
goff and Doug Swenson. Through continuous study and practice he is able
to offer not only primary and second series Ashtanga classes\, but also
unique classes inspired by these other distinguished teachers.\n\nYou wi
ll enjoy the way Jack's sense of humor and compassion puts you at ease w
hile fostering a safe environment in which to work the body.

DESCRIPTION:with John Hauser\n\n"Sacred Power" is a class for experience
d practitioners who wish to immerse themselves in this demanding Sadhana
which combines sun salutation variations with postures held for longer
periods to develop strength and effect deep releases. Aggressive stretc
hing of the low back\, hamstrings and hips is emphasized and Yin techniq
ues are often incorporated. There is much reference to the ultimate\, t
raditional goal of Yoga - the end of duality and union with the Divine.
Healing\, meditation and self-improvement are topics of the chosen rea
dings. We welcome all faiths and spiritual persuasions in this class.

the stillness of long held Yin poses. As we attune to our inner space\,
we make the journey to a flowing practice\; cultivating strength and fle
