s for sale “Right Start” Fertilizer Packets to give seedlings the right
starting nutrients in the right place at the right time. Tree Protector
s are available to improve the survivability of hardwood trees. Tree pr
otectors increase growth and lower maintenance costs. They are designed
to only be used on hardwood trees\, not on shrubs or evergreens. Vispo
re Tree Mats are also available to help protect from weed growth around
the tree. The mat provides each tree\, evergreen or shrub 9 square feet
of weed free soil. The mat controls weeds\, yet allows water to reach
the plant.\n\nRain barrels and conservation books are also available.\n
\nIn addition to energy conservation and wildlife habitat\, trees serve a
number of other purposes. Ten mature trees remove approximately 5 tons
of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere annually. They also dilute pollu
ted air with fresh oxygen. One hundred mature trees catch about 250\,00
0 gallons of rainwater each year. Trees planted appropriately can save
up to 25% of annual cooling costs and save 10 to 25% of energy used for
heating. In 40 years\, the average tree returns $2.70 in benefits for e
very $1 of investment.\n\nTrees will be available for pick-up in late Ap

DESCRIPTION:Ice Age Mammals will open at the Burpee Museum on October 8t

howing of this Canadian Museum of Nature’s Traveling Exhibit. It is ex
citing that it is opening at the Burpee Museum in Rockford and is prese
nted by BMO Harris Bank.\n\nWe invite you to chill out with our new trav
elling exhibition on ice-age mammals. This exhibition features dozens of
real fossils\, touchable casts and specimens along with really cool int
eractive displays. Dramatic murals by Yukon-based palaeoartist George "R
inaldino" Teichmann round out your experience of Ice Age Mammals. The e
xhibition focuses on ice-age mammals\, climate change\, extinction and h
uman impact on climate and species.\n\nOne very cool exhibit is the moun
ted Mastodon Skeleton. The mastodons were about the same size as the ele
phants and the mammoths\, but more muscular and most species had fur.\n
\nDuring the last Ice Age\, there were many large\, interesting mammals\,
like the saber-toothed cats\, giant ground sloths\, mastodons\, and mam
moths. These animals have long since gone extinct and are known mostly f
rom fossils\, from frozen\, mummified carcasses\, and even from ancient
cave drawings. We will have skulls from many of these animals including
: Muskox\, Badger\, American Lion and Scimitar Cat as part of the exhib
it.\n\nThe Ice Age Mammal exhibit was produced by the Canadian Museum of
Nature in partnership with the Montreal Science Centre\, the Yukon Beri
ngia Intrepretive Centre and the Royal Tyrell Museum of Paleontology.\n
\nWe are also partnering with the Cherryvale Mall again for this exhibit.
\n\nThe Exhibit will be displayed throughout the Museum and will be incl
uded with regular admission to the Musuem.\n\nAdmission for Members of t
he Museum will be free.\n\nA family membership to the Burpee Museum is $

Also available Evergreen Package (a variety of 20 trees) for $34 and a S
