The event will be held February 9 from 7:00–9:00 p.m. at the Drake Centre. Desserts and beverages will be provided.
Meet and talk with Helen Thorpe during her presentation and book signing. Thorpe, wife of Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, works as a freelance journalist, author, and story writer. Devoted to her passion for writing, she published her first book, Just Like Us. Thorpe’s book describes the lives of four Mexican girls who all seek the “American Dream,” but only two have legal documentation. This stunning work of in-depth journalism defines the battle of immigration status and the power of legal limitations. Participate in a free poverty simulation on Saturday, February 11 from 10:00am to noon, hosted by ELTC, the Larimer County Circles Initiative, and Vineyard Church of the Rockies. 42.9 million Americans are living in poverty, and 42 thousand of them live in Larimer County. Walk a mile in the shoes of our neighbors who live the experience of poverty each day.
These simulations are an opportunity for you to learn about the experience of poverty and more about how you can engage in poverty reduction. In just two short hours, you will increase your understanding of the dynamics of poverty and receive a more accurate portrayal of the struggle for self-sufficiency that many face in Larimer County. This simulation creates a community of people living in poverty for one “month” (real time equals one hour) during which they must meet their basic needs on a limited income. Canyon Concert Ballet proudly presents Dancing with the Stars of Fort Collins on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Sunset Event Center in downtown Fort Collins - doors open at 7pm and the performance begins at 8pm. Enjoy an evening of fun as you see couples take to the dance floor with styles ranging from swing to tango to the Lindy hop. The 15th annual Empty Bowls Fort Collins event will be ladling community hope on Thursday, February 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hilton, 425 W. Prospect. Tickets cost $50 each or $95 per pair.
Working to increase awareness of hunger in Larimer County, the event raises funds for the Food Bank for Larimer County, 1301 Blue Spruce Drive, a non-profit organization providing food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger relief programs.
Hosted at the Hilton in Fort Collins, the event offers guests the opportunity to select a pottery bowl made by students in the Poudre School District or by a local artist and enjoy signature soups provided by area restaurants.
In addition to bowls made by students in Poudre School District, many bowls are also created by the artists of the City of Fort Collins’ Pottery Studio and the Northern Colorado Pottery Guild. These bowls will be included as guest bowl selections and as silent auction items.

Having Fun With Your Computer - Video Streaming
At The March Front Range PC Users Group meeting you will have the opportunity to learn about two different topics. The first topic is a brief discussion of what you need to do to challenge an invalid PayPal© transaction.
The second topic will give you some insight in how your computer can be used for video entertainment. Selected video streaming services will be reviewed. Most people think of YouTube when "video streaming" is mentioned. Today, however, there are many other similar and/or competing services—some of the more well-known names are Netflix© for movies and Hulu© for TV. Amazon is also in this market, starting at the beginning of 2011, and Wal Mart started a service about mid-2011. There are services that provide free access to videos and services that charge a fee (and some services provide both choices, with more content available with the subscriptions). You CAN (yes, you really can) have fun with your computer!
