Music from Our Hands -- fine craft exhibition

Community Calendar Music is the theme for the latest fine craft exhibition on display at the Gallery at The Craft Center and League of NH Craftsmen Headquarters. Music from Our Hands, which runs from January 13 through March 21, 2012, is a multi-media exhibition featuring the work of juried members of the League of NH Craftsmen. The exhibition features two electric guitars, three acoustic guitars, a sterling silver flute, a gourd, whistles, vase percussion, as well as other fine handcrafted pieces that include musical elements. An opening reception, where the public can meet and speak with the participating craftspeople, is scheduled for Friday, January 13 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Eastman Loppet for David's House

Charity Events David's House serves as a home-away-from home and offers support for families of children recieving treatment at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) located within the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. 95% of the funding for David's House is derived from donations. As Blazeman rolled across the finish line in Kona, Hawaii, he challenged all endurance athletes to help find a cure for ALS, so others may live. Music from Our Hands -- fine craft exhibition

Bald Eagles in the Lakes Region

Community Calendar For adults. Join Iain MacLeod for a day of fieldwork, as he takes part in the New Hampshire Audubon mid-winter eagle survey. Every winter, Bald Eagles from Maine and Canada join our growing resident eagle population to winter in the Lakes Region. Each year, New Hampshire Audubon staff and volunteers survey the likely areas and count the eagles. We will follow a set route around Squam Lake and portions of Winnipesaukee in Meredith in the morning. We will gather with other volunteers for lunch and to swap stories and sightings before going out in the afternoon to cover areas where eagles were missed earlier.
