"Fashion is in the Bag," thru Dec. 12

Museums Centerville Museum's 'Year of Fashion' exhibit series continues with the opening of the new exhibit, Fashion is in the Bag. The handbag, purse, reticule and clutch: they come in many forms and have had many modifications and transformations, but at the end of the day their function remains the same. Or does it? The purpose and style of the purse has changed significantly as the life styles and responsibilities of women have changed. Today the purse is one of the most important accessories in a woman's wardrobe. This exhibit examines this topic as it explores these beautifully fashionable yet functional objects. A woman is not defined by her purse, but a look at or into her handbag is a glimpse into her life. Adults $7; Seniors & Students $6; Children under 8 & Members free. 508-775-0331. Region: Mid Cape.
