Organic By Nature, March 8-April 26

Exhibits/Galleries “Organic By Nature” features a collection of paintings, drawings and sculptures by a very talented family of artists; it includes a mother Chris O’Dell Ferguson, and her two daughters, Cailyn and Kelly. Chris O’Dell Ferguson came from a fairly rural life where she earned her appreciation for nature. As far back as she can remember she has always created artwork. Moving to Cape Cod in 1988 Chris and her husband have raised their daughters in a similar environment. Chris’ pursuit of capturing the beauty of nature is exciting and never-ending, working in many different mediums because her true passion is the subject matter. Her understanding and compassion of the creatures she depicts are reflected in her sculptures. Her paintings capture subtle movement and time, drawing the viewer in for the journey. Chris believes that art is her voice, with which she can convey a story or moment without speaking. Region: Upper Cape. Town: Mashpee. Category: Arts/Entertainment. Cost: FREE. Phone: 508-477-5767. Cape Cod Meditation Circle

Clubs / Organizations The benefits of meditation are multiple. Through regular practice, subtle transformations take place in one’s body, mind, and inmost consciousness. Some of these benefits are experienced right away; others unfold progressively and may take more time to become apparent. Inner peace is one of the first fruits of meditation. Along with that come greater clarity, understanding, and guidance from within. Meditation brings objectivity and intuitive knowledge of how to address the problems that arise in the course of daily life. It improves one’s concentration and efficiency, and one’s attitude toward work. It harmonizes the life forces in the body, removing harmful stress and promoting health and vitality. Region: Mid Cape.

Irish History

The history of the people of Ireland is a complex one of ancient greatness, paganism, Christianity, invasion, occupation, repression, famine and attempted genocide. There are many examples of the recognized contribution and achievement of the people of Erin. For example, Ireland has the Ceide Fields, Newgrange, and the Book of Kells.
