Speak Truth To Power - Human Rights Defenders Who Are Changing Our World

Museum The museum’s special exhibit, Speak Truth To Power, explores the issue of human rights through a collection of 50 large, emotional, portraits of people from around the world who have stood up against injustice. These beautiful portraits, created by Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Eddie Adams in 2000, bring us face to face with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel, the Dalai Lama, Marian Wright Edelman, and other inspiring human rights defenders. The exhibition can be appreciated on a number of levels. Adams’ photographs are stunning works of art in their own right, the stories of the human rights defenders, compiled by RFK Center founder Kerry Kennedy, have the power to inspire action, and the parallels that can be drawn between the important issues of the 1960s and the continuing abuses of individual rights can enlighten us as to the work that still needs to be done. Weekly opinion topics give exhibition guests an opportunity to participate in a public discussion about issues that affect us all.… Saturday, November 22, 2014, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Weekly opinion topics give exhibition guests an opportunity to participate in a public discussion about issues that affect us all.… Sunday, November 23, 2014, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
