Mendel signs his paintings ZEPEL, memorializing a Swiss boy-doll he so much cherished as a very young child, but had to leave behind in Berlin Germany, when he with his parents fled the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler in the Fall of 1938. From the mid 1960s and for thirty years thereafter, Mendel designed album covers for some of America's most successful recording artists featuring the likes of Tony Bennett, Willie Nelson, Donovan, Gladys Knight, The NY Philharmonic and hundreds more in all musical genres. From the mid 1960s and for thirty years thereafter, Mendel designed album covers for some of America's most successful recording artists featuring the likes of Tony Bennett, Willie Nelson, Donovan, Gladys Knight, The NY Philharmonic and hundreds more in all musical genres. Gallery 66 NY

Exhibits & Galleries “Form and Fantasy,” featuring the two exceptional artists, Cali Gorevic and Polly King. Gorevic’s photographs explore sensuous monochromatic ‘soft rock’ forms from Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California. In contrast, King combines representational collage with abstracted painterly forms evoking mysterious imagery. The back gallery features Heidi Ettinger and Judith Foster in their show “Turbulence and Tranquility.” Ettinger’s images present the transformation of the landscape into something as dramatic as the times we live in. Foster’s paintings hunt for beauty in the continuously changing world around all of us. Meet the artists at the opening reception from 6-9 p.m. July 4. Exhibits will be on display from June 27-July 27. Opening reception: 6-9 p.m. July 4. Region: Hudson River Region. Cost: Free to the public. Phone: 845-809-5838. Email: gallery66ny@gmail.com.
