Sacred Arts Tour with the Deprung Gomang Monks

Religious Five-day Sand Mandala celebration from April 22-27. Each day the monks will offer 2-3 workshops, between 1-2 hours long. Enjoy a welcome dinner with the monks on April 22. The Geshe-la will offer small readings on April 25 and 26. Also on April 26, there will be a Fire Puja (offering) ceremony, featuring chanted prayers and a ritual. A closing ceremony will be held in the afternoon on April 27. Participants will parade the sand down to the lake, chanting and performing a small ceremony, putting the colored sand into the lake for blessings. Hike-A-Thon and Earth Day celebration.

An event for the whole family, it takes place at the Museum's Outdoor Discovery Center on Muser Drive off Angola Road in Cornwall. Earth Day activities include a big bonus this year -- the opening of Art in the Wild: Naturally Inspired Trailside Creations, a series of art installations along the Museum's Pond Trail. Hikers are asked to form teams and seek support from friends, family, co-workers and local businesses to help them meet their fundraising goals.  Hikers will be able to choose from a variety of trails, as well as guided and independent hikes.
