Submitted The Cleveland Institute of Art is hosting “3 in 1: An Exhibition of Three Endeavors by the Printmaking Department” and will feature three sets of printmaking work. One-of-a-kind prints made from former Cleveland Indians shortstop Omar Vizquel, artist Curtis Mitchell and artist Greg Nanney will be on sale. These prints, along with work from CIA students, faculty, and staff, are on sale during the show. The third set of prints, Global Implications, is a portfolio of 28 limited edition prints from the Southern Graphics Council International Conference. Thursday, February 9, 2012, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Submitted The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve (AAWR) is proud to announce: Adele Marihatt Memorial and Retrospective. The public is invited to attend this free exhibition of one of our Archived Artists on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The opening reception on January 21 will remember and celebrate the life and career of Adele Marihatt. Along with refreshments, there will be an hour long presentation at 2:00pm about Adele’s artistic career. The exhibition will close on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Adele Marihatt was a Swiss born painter who spent the first part of her career in medicine before beginning her professional pursuit of painting in the mid-1970s. Adele created many unique watercolor like pieces using acrylics on unprimed canvas and oil color on primed linen. Her works have been shown both in the U.S. and around the world including Ohio, New York, Bern and Geneva, Switzerland and Paris, France. Thursday, February 9, 2012, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Today thousands of researchers worldwide use fruit flies to learn about genetics, metabolism, physiology, and behavior. Why fruit flies? The public is invited to attend this free exhibition of one of our Archived Artists on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The opening reception on January 21 will remember and celebrate the life and career of Adele Marihatt. Along with refreshments, there will be an hour long presentation at 2:00pm about Adele’s artistic career. The exhibition will close on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Adele Marihatt was a Swiss born painter who spent the first part of her career in medicine before beginning her professional pursuit of painting in the mid-1970s. Adele created many unique watercolor like pieces using acrylics on unprimed canvas and oil color on primed linen. Cleveland Botanical Garden's Orchid Mania: This Side of Paradise

Submitted Sophisticated ladies. Speakeasies. Busby Berkeley musicals. The 1920s. This year, Orchid Mania brings forth a staggering diversity of colors, patterns, shapes and sizes of Orchidacea -- all in an art deco-inspired setting befitting of Jay Gatsby himself. Hundreds of bold, fragrant, blooming orchids will be on display throughout the Garden’s main floor from the thoroughly modern trappings of the lobby to the exotic Costa Rican rainforest in the Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse. St.Monica's Lenten Fish Fry

Submitted St Monica's Meal Ministry will once again be sponsoring the Lenten Fish Fry Dinners on Fridays February 24 thru March 30, 4:00 to 7:00. Choice of dinners are Battered Cod, or 1 piece of Baked Salmon with dill sauce, or 6-pc. Fried Shrimp, includes 1 choice of Cabbage & Noodles, Mac & Cheese, 3 Pierogi, or fries; 1 choice of coleslaw or applesauce; roll and butter, dessert and beverage. Prices range from $4.50 to $8.50 for adults and $3.50 to $6.00 for children. Dinners are served in St. Monica's school cafeteria, 13633 Rockside Road, Garfield Heights, 216-662-8685. All items are available ala carte. Homemade Potato Soup is available for sale by the bowl or carry out quart. Mogadore--located directly between Rts. 43 & 44) has had "the best Fish Fry in the area" -a customers' quote, for quite a while. Prices range from $4.00 for mac/cheese to $10.00 for one of our complete fish dinners. Fish dinners are fried or baked and you can also choose a combo plate. Shrimp, very popular, is also available and fish sandwiches are on the menu too. All dinners include a choice of sides, beverage and dessert.
