WSU Cultural Affairs presents Yuval Ron Ensemble
The Yuval Ron Ensemble includes Arabic, Jewish and Christian artists who come together to unite the sacred musical traditions of Judaism, Sufism (Islamic mystical tradition) and the Christian Armenian Church into an unusual musical celebration. Composer and world-music record producer Yuval Ron imparts the ancient and deep intercultural connection between these three traditions and the musical influences they share. The concert features songs of Sufi origin from Turkey, Jewish prayers from Morocco, Yemen and Israel and Armenian chants. With the addition of the colorful guest dancers this program is a feast for the senses!
"... the music performed by Yuval Ron was food for the soul!"

Peery's Egyptian Theater presents "West Side Story"
Westside story is the award winning adaptation of the classic romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliette. The feuding families become two warring New York City gangs- the white Jets led by Riff and the Puerto Rican Sharks, led by Bernardo. Their hatred escalates to a point where neither can coexist with any form of understanding. But when Riff's best friend (and former Jet) Tony and Bernardo's younger sister Maria meet at a dance, no one can do anything to stop their love. Maria and Tony begin meeting in secret, planning to run away. Then the Skarks and Jets plan a rumble under the highway - whoever wins gains control of the streets. Maria sends Tony to stop it, hoping it can end the violence. It goes terribly wrong, and before the lovers know what's happened, tragedy strikes and doesn't stop until the climactic and heartbreaking ending. Written by Anonymous on imdb.com.

WSU Cultural Affairs presents Solas
Celebrating their 15th Anniversary in the 2011-2012 season, Solas is one of the most popular, influential, and exciting Celtic bands ever. Solas plays Irish music as well as anyone alive or departed, varying the mix of fire tested tradition and contemporary sensibility with ease.
This evenings concert, "Shamrock City," is a journey through music and song looking back 100 years to the *Richest Hill on Earth*, Butte, Montana, where Irish immigrant Michael Conway lived, loved and died in the copper camp.
Solas' music brings to life the social struggles and dangerous conditions that allowed only the strong and the lucky to survive.
"Solas offers a compellingly original, strikingly contemporary view of traditional Celtic sounds." — Los Angeles Times.
