Custom Field IconsYou can display icons with your events to help calendar visitors more quickly identify events they are interested in and give your calendar a more professional look and feel. For instance, you can assign icons to event categories or event locations and display those icons with events. The image below shows custom field icons displayed in the table calendar view spud. How to add custom field iconsYou use a list of choices custom field to define the values and associated icons and then assign those values to your events. Follow the steps below to create your field and add values and icons.
Displaying icons in published viewsThe icons you add to custom field values can be shown along with events in published views. Custom field icons are available in most spuds including calendar views, event detail views, promotion spuds, the filter spud, the RSS feed and the event actions display.
Icons must be enabled using the spud settings for each individual spud. Display icons with event descriptions
Display icons with custom field valuesIcons can also be shown next to field values on views that support displaying custom field values. The image below shows the detail view with custom field icons included with the field values. Filter spud icons
Edit spud settings to enable iconsIcons can be enabled on spuds through the spud settings in the Publishing Control Panel. Select the Edit Settings & Settings link for each spud to access the settings shown below. Event icon fields: Select one or more fields from the list to have their icons displayed next to the event description. Only list of choices type fields that include icons are available for selection. Show field value icons: This setting is available on spuds that are capable of displaying custom field values. When this setting is enabled, any custom fields displayed in the spud will include the icon next to the field value. |
